ESPN Is this morning reporting that Arsenal has told Fiorentina that they can have the 32-year-old Mikel Arteta for £6 million.

The Italian Serie A club is interested in signing the Spanish midfielder but were looking to pay £3.2 million for a player who has now entered the last year of his contract.

With no new offer on the table it would appear as if Arsenal are willing to let him go after having seen him make 100 appearances for the club since joining them from Everton on the final day of the transfer window back in 2011.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is still in Brazil working for French television, and despite the club being linked with Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and Loic Remy the Gunners are yet to make a signing this summer.
