If reports doing the round are anything to go by, the Arsenal are on course to sign a budding midfielder over the summer transfer window.

According to Italian source Tuttosport, the Gunners are front runners for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic who is currently in the final year of his 2-year loan at Inter. Apparently, Inter Milan are interested in making the deal permanent but according reports, the Italians are ready to sell him to any club that wants his services immediately after buying him as they try to balance the books.

It is reported that the Italian giant will be looking to cut their loss should they not qualify for the UEFA Champions League, and, one of the players likely to be removed from their wage rooster is Brozovic. They are currently fourth in the League, two points above Fiorentina who also have Champions League hopes.

Arsenal will have to pay about £20million according to the reports, but chances are that the Gunners could seal the signing of the Croatian for much less than the quoted £20 million price tag.

The player’s contribution from the midfield has been superb. He has 3 goals and 3 assists despite being played further down the midfield. His versatility is something that is certainly going to delight Wenger as the Frenchman likes his players versatile.

Wenger is adjudged to be a huge admirer of the Croatian and has been monitoring him for two seasons now. However, it remains to be seen whether he could finally make a move for the player.

Arsenal are blessed with an abundance of talent in their midfield, which has gotten more competitive with the signing of Mohamed Elneny in the winter transfer window. Therefore there is and outside chance of this deal happening.
