Ashley Cole has still not been offered a new deal by Chelsea – despite having just a year left on his contract.
Cole is currently on tour in America with Chelsea, and played in the the 3-2 loss to David Beckham and the MLS All-Stars on Wednesday night.
However, the England left-back finds himself in the same situation as Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott at Arsenal, both of whom can speak to rival foreign clubs if no deal is agreed by January.
Cole, 32 in December, has no talks scheduled to resolve his situation and sources close to the player have indicated he could be happy to let his contract run down.
Signed from bitter rivals Arsenal six years ago, Cole is still regarded as one of the best left-backs in world football and is two appearances from 100 for England.
He has won the Premier League, four FA Cups, the League Cup and the Champions League with the Blues.
