Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria’s move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain is very close according to manager Laurent Blanc.
The Argentinian international failed to join Manchester United on their pre-season tour of the United States, and Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has said that he “does not know why”.
“There is a good possibility he could sign but there is nothing official,” said Blanc after a defeat by Chelsea.
“We have to have patience a little longer. The outcome is very close.”
Meanwhile French paper L’Equipe has reported United has agreed a £46.5m deal with the French champions for the 27-year-old midfielder, despite talks understood to be on-going with a final fee still not agreed upon.
Talking about the missing Di Maria United boss van Gaal said: “He was not on the plane.”
“Marcos Rojo was also not on the plane. He has had a passport issue – for Di Maria, I don’t know why. I cannot say anything.”
The talk now is that Di Maria will fly to PSG’s training base in New Jersey and undergo a medical before joining the Ligue 1 club as they finish up their pre-season tour.
