Arsenal, Barcelona

Arsenal are the front runners to land Barcelona’s Chilean international forward Alexis Sanchez after having a £34 million bid agreed in principle with the Catalan giants.

Barcelona for their part though will not commit until they hears from Serie A champions Juventus who are also interested in Sanchez.

Juventus though are struggling financially and would like to see a bidding war between Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain for French international Paul Pogba.

Sanchez’s Chilean teammate Arturo Vidal is also on the radar of Manchester United which could provide the Italians with the money they need for Sanchez.

Despite talk over the weekend that a deal had been done between Barcelona and Liverpool for striker Luis Suarez it would appear as everything has now stalled with the Daily Express reporting that Barcelona is not willing to pay more than £60 million for the prolific goalscorer and that Sanchez refuses to move to Liverpool as part of a deal.

If the status quo remains like this for the next few days Barcelona will accept Arsenals offer and the Gunners will have got themselves a world-class player.
