According to Spanish daily sports paper Mundo Deportivo Barcelona has upped their interest in former Chelsea playmaker Kevin de Bruyne after having watched the 23-year-old excel in the German Bundesliga.

The Belgium international has been a sensation for Wolfsburg since moving from Stamford Bridge in January of 2014 racking up an impressive 15 goals with 24 assists in all competitions this season peaking the La Liga leader’s attention.

Barcelona is looking for a versatile forward who is comfortable playing in a variety of positions up front, and while the player’s agent claims there has been interest from Paris Saint-Germain and both Manchester heavy weights given the choice, de Bruyne would prefer a move to the Nou Camp.
