Barcelona star player Lionel Messi will be out injured for three weeks after straining his right thigh muscle while scoring a goal during Barcelona’s 2-0 win against Almeria Saturday night.

While it is disappointing news for the Catalans, Celtic will be pleased not to have to face the world player of the year award winner when Barcelona come to Glasgow for their Champions League match on Tuesday.

Barcelona is currently unbeaten in La Liga this season after securing their 7th straight win, but will be without the 26-year-old Argentinian for their next two domestic features against Valladolid and Osasuna.
