Arsenal is reportedly ready to go after Southampton attacking midfielder Sadio Mane as they also prepare to land French international defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin from the South Coast club.

The former Red Bull Salzburg player joined Southampton last summer for £10 million last summer, and has scored six goals for Ronald Koeman’s side so far this season, which has according to reports attracted the attention of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

The news comes as Arsenal prepares to begin talks with Theo Walcott over a new contract, and given the way things developed last time over a lengthy period with the England international holding the winning hand, Wenger does not want to find himself in the same position again, and knows that by signing the 22-year-old he can give Walcott a take it or leave it ultimatum.
