Manchester United target Nicolas Otamendi has told his Valencia teammates that he will do all he can to force a move away from the Mestalla this summer and that he is keen to join Manchester UnitedAccording to Spanish sports newspaper AS the Red Devils tried to sign the Argentinian defender in January but were knocked back by the La Liga outfit who were focused on finishing the season in a Champions League qualifying position.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal still sees the 27-year-old tough tackling defender as part of the team he wants to build at Old Trafford and has the support of Otamendi’s agent Eugenio Lopez who recently said when talking about his client: ‘He is going to do everything possible to achieve a move away (from the Mestalla)’.

For a deal to be completed Manchester United will have to pay close to £35 million to Valencia in order for the club to let him leave.
