Manchester United and other clubs interested in signing Real Madrid James Rodriguez can do so this summer for the right offer as Real Madrid have reportedly put the Colombian on the transfer market. The former AS Monaco star joined Real Madrid just after the world cup in 2014 for a reported £71m fee but has fallen under the pecking order at the club.

Manager Zinedine Zidane under who James has only made 19 appearances is said to have declared the Colombian surplus to requirement and as mandated Real Madrid to listen to offers for his services once the transfer window is opened.

The report claims Zidane has been given the free hand by club president Florentino Perez to bring in any players he wants and get rid of whatever player he doesn’t and the Frenchman has made it clear he will not be needing the service of James Rodriguez next season.

This will be music in the ears of Manchester United and their fans. The Red devils are said to be interested in signing Rodriguez. It was initially thought that it would be difficult to convince Real Madrid to sell the player but if this news is true, they now have a perfect opportunity to sign him this summer. The Colomobian is likely to be available for around £63m which shouldn’t be a problem for United.

Manchester United will however have competition for the services of the player in Chelsea who have also been linked to his signing.
