Other Strikers United are tracking include Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Edison Cavani of Paris Saint Germain and Lyon goal machine Alexandre Lacazette.

Dutchman van Gaal however would prefer to sign Muller given that he is only 25-years-old, and the fact he has already proved himself at the highest level winning the Bundesliga title and also the World Cup.

As for Muller, he is delighted to be linked with a move to Old Trafford, and with the Red Devils ready to offer more money in wages than he currently makes at the Allianz Arena a deal is definitely on the cards if United can convince the German giants to let him leave.
