West Ham, Juventus, Quagliarella,

Sam Allardyce knows that the Hammers are desperate for a striker and was looking at Juventus’s Fabio Quagliarella.

He is not alone in his desire to sign a new forward with Shakhtar Donetsk’s manager Mircea Lucescu also interested in the Italian, but admits it could be tough to get the 30-year-old to move to the Ukraine.

“Quagliarella? He’s a great player, I’d take him straight away,” he told TuttoJuve.com.

“I don’t think it will be easy to convince him to accept Ukraine. I wanted him two months ago, but at the time it was not possible to start negotiations.

“We’ll see what happens in this last week before the transfer deadline. Time is tight but it’s possible a door will open with the Bianconeri.”
