If rumours are anything to go by it looks as if Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants to get all his transfer dealing sorted out once the window opens next month, and then concentrates on getting his team ready for next season.

The big signing everyone is waiting to hear about is striker Jackson Martinez from Portuguese side Porto. The 27-year-old Colombian would be a dream signing for Arsenal and would give the Gunners the goal scoring edge that they have been missing after averaging a goal a game in Champions League play and an amazing 67 goals in 88 appearances for the club.

Martinez has a £24.5 million release clause in his contract which is not all that much to pay for a player of his proven ability.

This is one player the Gunners could really use and Wenger now needs to get his finger out and get a deal done.

Next on Arsenal’s list has to be defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, and after having followed the 25-year-old French international for 18-months now we feel it is time Arsenal pulled the trigger and got him to the Emirates where he can partner Francis Coquelin in what all hope will be a title winning team.

And while we would also like to see another centre back join the ranks the other players being tipped to join Arsenal are no slouches either after reports claim Arsenal is in the market for Lyon pair Nabil Fekir and Alexandre Lacazette.

This may happen at the expense of Jackson Martinez, but were it to happen it would still be a fantastic coup for Wenger with the Ligue one pair having scored 40 goals between them this season and while still only 21 and 23 years-of-age could prove to be the Gunners front line for years to come.

Gooners are expecting a big summer in the transfer market so that Arsenal can compete for the title next season, and now it is up to the 65-year-old Wenger not to let them down.
