Arsenal

Every Arsenal fan around the world knows that the Gunners are in the market for a world-class striker this summer, and while there are quite a few available nothing would show Arsenal’s determination to win the Premiership than to sign Radamel Falcao from Monaco.

You have not heard much about the Colombian striker in recent weeks while it is his countryman James Rodriguez that is making the headlines scoring twice for Colombia against Uruguay to book them a quarter final place with Brazil.

While the Colombian hit man has been side-lined recovering from a broken leg it is easy to forget that since moving to Europe five years ago the 28-year-old has averaged nearly a goal per game, and could very well carry on that impressive statistic for Arsenal also.

Perhaps his time laid up will have reminded him that his career is short and that it would be much better to end your footballing life as an Arsenal legend playing in front of a sold out Emirates crowd rather than playing in front of a few thousand at the soulless Stade Louis II, even if it does mean a huge tax-free salary.

The talk in the Spanish press is that he wants to return to Spain and play for Real Madrid, which if it did come to pass would mean that another Arsenal target Karim Benzema would become available.

Either way Arsene Wenger should start making enquiries now or before you know it there will be a mad scramble of the last day of the window as there was last summer with Özil, except this time it could be Mario Balotelli rather than a true star like Falcao or even Benzema that arrives at the Emirates.
