Both players were substituted in the Gunners 2-1 win over Leicester City at the Emirates last night and could find themselves missing matches due to injury.

Manager Arsene Wenger does not think Alexis Sanchez has anything serious after suffering a blow to his knee just 20-minutes into the game with Wenger substituting the Chilean to be on the safe side.

The Frenchman did however admit he had some concern over midfielder Aaron Ramsey following what looked like another injury to his hamstring.

“Alexis Sanchez does not look bad, a kick on the knee,” said Wenger.

“Aaron Ramsey is a bit more worrying because it is a muscular injury but the fact he had to stop straight away is not a good sign.”

The Welshman had already spent six weeks out with a hamstring injury earlier in the season after straining it back in December during the Gunners Champions League match with Turkish club Galatasaray.

Ramsey has already spent six weeks on the side-lines with a hamstring injury this season after picking up a strain during the Gunners’ Champions League clash against Galatasaray in December.

It was not just the possible injury to Ramsey that had the Frenchman concerned; it was also Arsenal’s disappointing play in the second half that nearly let Leicester get back into the match.

“We had some good moments in the game and a good spirit. We dropped in the second half and became a bit nervous,” added Wenger.

“I’m surprised this team [Leicester] is bottom of the league. I knew that before the game. If they can keep believing in what they are doing I think they will get out.”
