Former Arsenal left-back and now football pundit Nigel Winterburn has told talkSPORT that Arsene Wenger must send big this summer if the Gunners are to have any hope of keeping up with their Premier League rivals.
Arsenal is currently in a fight with Everton for 4th place, and has struggled against teams at the top of the table and with Wenger yet to sign a new deal the future is uncertain.
Winterburn believes that should Wenger stay he needs to spend big this summer to give Arsenal a chance to compete next season with the clubs around them.
“Arsene Wenger has got to change his transfer policy if he stays,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. “He’s got to go into the transfer market and really strengthen this team because they have struggled against the big boys.”
