Wenger makes his second summer signing

The headline may have given Gunners fans some hope, but it is not the marquee name you are all waiting for but only former Arsenal player Mathieu Flamini on a free transfer.

Flamini left Arsenal back in 2008 to join AC Milan, but is now back in London joining Arsenal in a three-year-deal that will see the midfielder earn £40,000 per-week.

The 29-year-old Flamini has been in pre-season training with Arsenal after he was released by AC Milan at the end of last season.

Just last week Wenger was playing down rumours that he would feature for Arsenal saying:

‘He is just here to work on his fitness and he does that very well, I don’t say there’s no chance and I don’t say there is a chance [of signing him].’
