Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has still not given up hope of bringing Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to north London despite setbacks over the summer that saw the 27-year-old remain at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, Spanish news outlet Fichajes says Arsenal has not yet given up hope of getting a deal done, with Wenger poised to make a new offer to the Spanish giants for a player he thinks would fit perfectly into the Gunners current team.

Fichajes explains that Real Madrid club president Florentino Perez doesn’t want to do business with Arsenal over Benzema, and points out that it would take a very large bid in order for Perez to alter his stance on letting the French international leave.
