Even though it has been widely reported Podolski has signed for the Gunners manager Arsene Wenger says it is not a done deal yet.
Even Lukas Podolski’s current club Cologne is refusing to talk about the deal.
While it is almost certain that a deal has been done Wenger is saying: “I have not a lot to say about that because if we sign a player we will inform you.
At the moment we have not signed anybody. There is still no agreement.
“The distance to the agreement is not always linked with the signing.
“When you are very close you are quickly very far again, but Podolski is a good player, I wouldn’t deny that.”
After reports yesterday about Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala offering to pay £40 million plus £200,000 a-week to have the German come, and play for them over Arsenal anything is possible.
