Pep Guardiola will prove to be a big headache for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger

Manchester United have been dealt a massive blow in the transfer window. This is as news emerged that one of the Red devils main summer target Ilkay Gundogan has agreed personal terms with Manchester City and will reportedly sign for the Citizens in a deal said to be worth £30 million.

The Borussia Dortmund star was thought to be on his way to Old Trafford last summer but United could not reach an agreement with Dortmund for his signature. The club has once again linked with a move for the versatile midfielder. United reportedly sees him as the ideal replacement for Michael Carrick who is reportedly set to be released at the end of his contract on July one.

Incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has however moved quickly to sign the German as replacement for Yaya Toure who many reports claim could be playing his last season for City.

Should the report be true and Ilkay Gundogan joins Manchester City, it will be sad news for United as Gundogan would have been a good replacement for Michael Carrick. It will also mean Ed Woodward needs to start making his moves in the transfer market very fast. United simply can’t afford to get it wrong in the window for yet again.
