Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was over the moon last night following Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield taking to Twitter to express his joy while also admitting he should have let teammate Juan Mata take the penalty which if converted would have given the little Spaniard a hat-trick.
Instead the United captain stepped up only to see his effort saved by Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
The United skipper also gave a shout out to the lone Red Devils supporter who proudly held his Manchester United scarf aloft in the Kop End prior to the kick-off.
