Wenger expects winger to be fit for England duty.

Walcott blow hits Gunners

Theo Walcott: Unlikely to play again in the Premier League this season but should be fit for Euro 2012
Arsene Wenger does not believe Theo Walcott will play for Arsenal again this season after suffering a hamstring problem but expects the winger to recover in time for Euro 2012.

Walcott pulled up in pain during the second half of Saturday’s goalless draw against Chelsea but tried to play on for another minute or two.

He could not continue and had to be replaced by Gervinho, with Wenger declaring after the final whistle that his Premier League campaign was probably now over.

While the injury will require further assessment, Wenger believes it is a serious issue that will keep him sidleined for at least three weeks.

The Arsenal manager has played down fears, however, that he might not be available for England duty in the summer.
Tough

“It looks like a serious hamstring,” said Wenger.

“First we assessed the hamstring, he wanted to go on and stay on the pitch, and I think he should have gone off straight away because the second time it was a real hamstring [injury].

“I think now for him it will be tough to come back before the end of the season. It is usually 21 days [minimum].”

“He should be OK to play for England, but I don’t think he will be ready to play for us.”
