Aston Villa, Ajax, Okore,

Aston Villa fans are still on a high following their historic victory over Arsenal last Saturday, and even though he was never used in the match no one will argue with Villa when they tell you they made a real coup signing Jores Okore.

The Ivorian who plays internationally for Denmark had been linked with bigger clubs than Villa, but since the arrival of Paul Lambert and his Borussia Dortmund approach Villa has become known as a team where young players will get the opportunity to play.

Because of this philosophy Villa may feel that they can entice the highly rated Viktor Fischer from Ajax.

The Dutchman would fill a void at Villa, and with his goal scoring ability from midfield perhaps being his most valuable contribution having scored ten times last season for Ajax.

Currently Ashley Westwood, Fabian Delph and Yacouba Sylla are Villa’s midfield trio, and yet neither of them managed to score a single goal last season despite 54 combined starts.

Following on from last week’s win over Arsenal the arrival of Fischer would surly make a strong statement that Villa have no intention of finishing below mid-table this season.
