Tottenham and Arsenal target David Villa will make a decision on his future after the upcoming Confederations Cup.

The Barcelona forward has grown increasingly frustrated at the lack of game time at the Nou Camp and has pleaded with club officials to let him leave. Originally Villa wanted to leave the club in January, however he was convinced to stay until the end of the season.

Given the fact Arsenal have Champions League football next year suggests a move to the Emirates is more likely than their city rivals. However both club’s lack a world-class centre forward and Villa would certainly fit the bill for both sides.

The recent addition of Brazilian superstar Neymar has only edged Villa further out of the door and Barca are reportedly ready to let the former Valencia man go for just £11million.

Villa has previously stated his wish to ply his trade in the Premier League and realistically now is his last chance to make a serious impact on the English game.

Centre forward needs

Both London clubs are aware of their need for a striker and have ensured bringing in a goalscorer is their highest priority (behind keeping Gareth Bale from a Spurs point of view).

Arsenal have been linked with a shock move for Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and although a deal seems unlikely, it isn’t entirely out of the question.

As for Spurs, their pursuit of the Brazilian Leonardo Damiao is still on. The Internacional man was close to a January move to White Hart Lane, however unfortunately for Spurs a deal couldn’t be done.
