It now looks like the unsettled Angel Di Maria could be on his way out of Old Trafford after just one season with the club, and he and his family failed to settle into life in England.

And while manager Louis van Gaal keeps saying that the Argentinian winger needs more time to settle into the Premiership they Dutchman would be prepared to cut his losses if United could sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.

Paris St Germain has been mentioned as a possible destination for Di Maria after the French champions failed in their attempt to sign the 27-year-old last summer due to FFP regulations, and know that this time around they will not have to pay the £59.7 million that United paid Los Blanco’s for him, and will look to bring Di Maria to the Parc des Princes for around £10 million less.

As for Manchester United the money from the sale of Di Maria and the fact they have decided not to sign Radamel Falcao will almost pay the £85 million Real Madrid would likely ask for Gareth Bale.

The 25-year-old Welshman has had an up and down second season with the Spanish giants, and with the club having a wealth of talent at their disposal may be willing to sell Bale if they can recoup the 100€ million they paid to Tottenham.

Bale would be a banner signing for van Gaal, and given his already extensive Premier League history would hit the ground running at Old Trafford.
