Ozil, Moyes, Real Madrid, MAN United,

According to a report in the Spanish financial newspaper El Confidencial a trusted source unlike the agenda run rags of MARCA and SPORT Özil is desperate to leave Real Madrid.

The German international knows that his days are numbered at the Santiago Bernabeu following the arrival of Isco and Gareth Bale as club president Florentino Perez tries to get back some of the world record fee he has paid Tottenham for their Welsh international.

The report Saturday says that the 24-year-old’s father approached Manchester United over the possibility of signing his soon after rumours appeared that he could be on his way to Old Trafford only to find that manager David Moyes is uninterested in signing the German international despite the obvious need for a quality midfielder.

Özil knows that he needs to be playing first team football for a big club with the World Cup next summer in Brazil, and if you had seen last week’s match against Real Betis you will know it will not be at Madrid, as he seemed totally disinterested in the game.

I would have thought that after having missed out on both Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas that the German would have ticked all the right boxes for Moyes, but perhaps he has his mind set on Juan Mata for Rooney which I guess we will find out after Monday night’s match between United and Chelsea.
