United fans hope to see more celebrating from Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford

With Jose Mourinho taking the managerial position at Manchester United in the summer, Mourinho made arguably the best signing of the season when Zlatan Ibrahimovic left Paris St Germain once his contract had ended and signed for Manchester United on a free transfer.

The 35-year-old Swedish striker signed a one year contract with the option of extending for an additional year and was re united with his former Inter Milan manager, Jose Mourinho.

Though there was excitement amongst the Manchester United fans and a buzz in the Premier League, many believed Ibrahimovic would not be able to adapt and handle the pace of the league due to his age.
But after 24 league appearances, scoring 15 goals and an incredible 2 goals to guide United to an EFL Cup Final win against Southampton last weekend, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has once again proven his critics wrong.

With Manchester United fighting for a place in Europe along with FA Cup and Europa League commitments, The Mourinho/Ibrahimovic combination has shown United fans what has been expected of the richest club in the world.

As the season comes to an end, so may Zlatan’s time at Old Trafford and Manchester United must do everything they can to keep the Swede from leaving.

When asked about the future of Ibrahimovic, Mourinho said in a press conference, “I never beg a player to sign a contract, I never beg a player to play for me”. He went on to say, “But, if needed, maybe United fans can go to the door of his house, and stay there all night, if needed. We all want, believe that he is going to stay”.

Speculation of Ibrahimovic deciding to take up one of the offers from the MLS or China in the summer may be true but there has also been reports of Zlatan and his representatives looking to extend his stay with the Red Devils for two years rather than one.

As well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic being a world class striker, he has experience of winning which will help in the growth of players such as Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and the world record signing Paul Pogba.

Another fantastic striker graces us in the Premier League and lets hope Jose Mourinho and Manchester United do all they can to keep Ibrahimovic in Manchester.
