MASSIVE BLOW for Arsenal ahead of Manchester United Clash

One of Arsenal’s most consistent players in the last two season has been Laurent Koscielny but the Frenchman is not happy with his team mates and has taken a swipe at them for the way the team let West Ham get back into the match on Saturday after the Gunners went 2-0 ahead.

Andy Carroll brought West Ham back to the player scoring West Ham’s first goal in the 43rd minute and the second on the last minute of the first half then went on to give the Hammers the lead on the 70th minute mark. The way Carroll scored his three goals was showed how naive Arsenal’s defenders are and for his, Koscielny has voiced his concern.

“You can’t let them get a cross in easy because they have some good players on the wings,” he said.

“It is a job for everyone, not just the defenders/ The guys on the flanks need to help their team-mates with defending.”

“He is quality when it comes to heading the ball. If you want to win the duel, you need to be stronger and arrive early on the cross.”

This outburst is unlikely to go down with Arsenal’s wide men and could leave to trouble within the dressing room. However, Wenger is experienced enough to deal with this problem.

However, from all indication Arsenal need to sign another centre back in the summer. Mertesacker turns 32 in the summer and looks like he will not be offered a new contract, Gabriel Paulista has in the gamess he has played shown he is not capable of forming a formidable partnership with Koscienly and if Wenger really wants to finally break his Premier league drought with the Gunners, signing another centre back once the window opens will be key.

Kostas Manola and PSG’s Marquinhos have both been linked to the Gunners in the last few days.
