Tottenham’s SECOND GUESSING opens the door for Chelsea and Liverpool

Both Chelsea and Liverpool have been given a huge boost in their desire to sign Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

Tottenham were thought to be in charge of the race to sign the 25-year-old French international, but now appear to be having second thoughts on bidding or not after French news outlet Foot Mercato had suggested that Mauricio Pochettino was ready to table an offer.

The Evening Chronicle however has revealed that the north London club is yet to make an offer for the box-to-box midfielder.

Whether Chelsea or Liverpool decide to pick up their interest in Sissoko remains to be seen, after Liverpool just spending £32.5 million on Christian Benteke, while Jose Mourinho appear to be covered in just about every position in his team.

The Magpies are looking to get at least £16 million for the former Toulouse man who is eager to play regular football for a top team to guarantee him a spot in France’s Euro 2016 squad.

He said: “Didier Deschamps says he will only select players who are regulars for their club.

“With a year until the Euros, I shouldn’t change club and risk ended up on the bench. But at the same time I want to play for one of the biggest clubs.

“I want to play in the Champions League, which we don’t have at Newcastle.”
