Spurs are going to use Tim Sherwood’s relationship with Togo international striker Emmanuel Adebayor as a way to get Belgium international Christian Benteke to sign for them.
Tottenham however just like Liverpool believe that Aston Villa’s asking price of £32.5 million is just too high, so will make a lower offer hoping that the idea of Sherwood being reunited with Adebayor will tip the scales in their favour.
Sherwood has already shown from his time in charge at White Hart Lane that he understands what it takes to make Adebayor tick, so this could prove to be a gutsy move from the north London club.
