Tottenham's pursuit of a centre-forward has once again changed.

The club appear to have lost interest in Brazilian forward Leandro Damiao and have upped their attempts to sign others in the same position.

Instead, according to reports, Barcelona's David Villa will join White Hart Lane next week after the two clubs agreed a fee.

Although age certainly isn't on Villa's side, if Tottenham can bring him and another striker to the club, then Andre-Villas Boas will certainly be happy with his summers work.

The other striker could well be Christian Benteke, who Spurs close to signing after agreeing to match his club Aston Villa's valuation of the player.

Damiao

Tottenham have been linked with Damiao for over a year now and were reportedly close to signing the Internacional man in January.

Since then however Villas-Boas has had a change of heart after failing to agree terms with the Brazilian club.

Now Damiao looks set to join Serie A side Napoli, whom moved ahead of Southampton in the race to sign the forward.

Paulinho

After months of being linked with the Brazilian central midfielder, Spurs finally completed a deal to sign Paulinho yesterday.

The recent Confederations Cup winner was heavily linked with Inter, however prefered a move to the Premier League and Tottenham.

Paulinho signed for just less than £17million, however it could turn out to be money well spent.
