Arsenal and Manchester United will prepare to make moves for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani after claims in Italy suggest the 28-year-old has put in a transfer request to leave the Parc des Princes at the end of the season.
The Uruguayan international is being forced to play out of position in Laurent Blanc’s team in order to placate Zlatan Ibrahimovic and now the once prolific Napoli goal scorer want so return to his main role.
For their part the French champions say that Cavani will not be allowed to leave, but now that he has physically put a transfer request in, the situation could be different as no club wants a player who is not interested in being there.
Cavani will not come cheap however with a £55 million price tag being suggested as a starting point for any interested bidder.
Cavani would be equally at home with either Premiership club, so it now could come down to who wants him the most Manchester United or Arsenal.
