With Dutch winger Memphis Depay already under his belt Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will start to put the other pieces of his puzzle together.
Currently all the buzz is about the Red Devils signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid and paying the Welsh winger £300,000 per-week to move to Old Trafford, and while United could certainly afford to pay him knowing that they will not be burdened by Radamel Falcao’s £265,000 per-week wage bill we can argue that the money would be better spent signing Edinson Cavani, as they already have a top winger in Depay.
The key transfer LVG can make in our opinion is that of Valencia central defender Nicolas Otamendi, with the La Liga side doing everything they can to keep the tough-tackling Argentinian at the Metalla.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United ever since his time at Porto with Spanish newspaper AS claiming United tried to sign him in January and will make another approach this summer.
At a press conference on Wednesday Otamendi refused to discuss his future, while at the same time failing to reassure Valencia fans that he will be at the club next season.
Have a look at the video below and see for yourselves why we think Otamendi could well be LVG’s best summer signing.
