According to Mediaset TV Real Madrid is to put French international striker Karim Benzema up for sale this summer, and expect to receive bids in the region of £32 million.
The reason he will be allowed to leave is that trainer Carlo Ancelotti wants to sign a new young striker for the 2015/2016 season and has decided to sell the 27-year-old Frenchman now while he is at his peak pricewise.
Arsenal was mentioned last summer as a possible destination for Benzema, but the European champions did not want to sell.
Liverpool too are being suggested as a possible destination as well given their poor goal scoring performance this season, yet despite needing a quality striker we feel Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will go for a younger player to compliment his team rather than spend a lot of money on a player who only has a few years left in the top-flight.
Arsenal though need someone to compliment Olivier Giroud , and we feel with Benzema in Arsene Wenger’s squad the Gunner would be taking a big step in challenging Chelsea for the Premiership title next season.
