All this talk over what goalkeeper will end up where next season will not finish until Manchester United’s David De Gea lets the world know whether he will be staying at Manchester United or moving to Real Madrid.

Once he decides the dominos can then fall into place. First let’s assume he decides to return home to Madrid leaving Manchester United to bring in a new keeper.

Top of their list is probably Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris, who is said to be available for £30 million, and with Lloris saying he wants to play Champions League football, United should have no trouble signing the Frenchman and could even offer the north London club Victor Valdes should they get cold feet.

If Tottenham change their mind there is also Chelsea number two Petr Cech available, but it is hard to imagine Jose Mourinho letting Cech leave to a Premiership rival, which means depending on De Gea’s decision he could prove a short gap solution for the Spanish giants, but if we were betting people our money would go on Cech joining Paris Saint-Germain.

Another possible choice for United would be Stoke City’s Bosnian international Asmir Begovic as the 27-year-old enters his final-year on his current contract at the Britannia Stadium.

Finally our last choice as a new keeper for United is Inter Milan’s Slovenian international Samir Handanovic, who looks to be on the move after Inter boss Roberto Mancini said: ‘I do not know the situation of Samir. I just know today that he made a great save 1-0 for opponents.

‘He wants to play in the Champions? I can understand that… we’ll see.’

Everything will come down to De Gea’s decision but with Liverpool in the market for a new shot-topper along with Arsenal, this is definitely going to be the summer of the Goalkeeper.
