Talk of Danny Ings joining Manchester United is just a SMOKESCREEN

Manchester United are now favourites over Liverpool to sign Burnley winger Danny Ings according to talkSPORT who say that the Salford club is in advanced talks with the 22-year-old agent and are confident of getting a deal done this summer.

Ings is out of contract with Burnley this summer, but due to his young age whoever he signs for must pay the Lancashire club £5 million in compensation.

Ings scored nine-goals for the Turf Moor outfit this season and is eager to work under Louis van Gaal according the Broadcaster.

We here at Soccer Transfers have some doubt as the how far down the road United is towards signing the former Bournemouth striker, and question why Dutchman van Gaal would go after such a low-profile target given his desire to win the Premiership next season with United.

With this in mind we see Ings as a smokescreen to hide the Red Devils real summer target who we are sure will cost much more than the £5 million they would cough up for the England U-21 international.
