Following the arrival of goalkeeper Petr Cech to the Emirates in January, out of favour shot-stopper Wojciech Szczesny was sent on loan to Serie A side AS Roma where he would be guaranteed first team football, something he would not have had at Arsenal with both Petr Cech and David Ospina ahead of him in manager Arsene Wenger’s pecking order.

While speaking to Sky Italia though, the Polish international said that he is desperate to return to north London.

“Arsenal are like a family and I’ve got to admit that if the Gunners do call me back, I will say yes.

“If a year ago, somebody had told me I’d be playing for Roma, I would have thought it impossible.

“I could see myself at Arsenal for life, and I don’t hide the fact that it’s still my dream.
