Swansea set to hijack Liverpool’s deal for Tom Ince

By Warren Haughton

Swansea have put in a £7million bid for Blackpool’s Tom Ince as they look to make the most of Liverpool’s failure to conclude a deal for the midfielder.

Ince, 20, was set to make a return to Anfield this week, just 18 months after leaving for £250,000, but Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been frustrated in his attempts to sign him with a bid of around £5m being rejected by Seasiders chairman Karl Oyston.

And, with a follow-up bid yet to be tabled, talkSPORT understands that Swansea want to steal the talented young winger from under Liverpool’s nose.

After a successful spell at Bloomfield Road, where he has earned plenty of plaudits, the England Under-21 star feels he is ready to play in the Premier League but he will only leave Blackpool if he is guaranteed regular first-team football.

Ince has just six months left on his current deal with the Championship side who also have an option for another year should he stay with the club.
