Liverpool Captain Steven Gerrard says it has been too long since Liverpool last won a trophy.
It has been six years now since the Mighty Reds last won a trophy, which is an eternity for the Liverpool fans who expect their beloved team to deliver.
The last time Liverpool won a major trophy was the FA Cup in 2006 a match in which Gerrard played a crucial part.
This is how Gerrard described his feeling going into the Final against Cardiff City on Sunday: “It is massive. Everyone at the club have done a fantastic job to get us to Wembley,”
“Now we have to go do the difficult part and go beat Cardiff.
“It has been too long since we last got to a major final at Wembley (16 years) and to a major final domestically in 2006.
“It is time we delivered as players and put a cup in the cabinet.”
When asked about playing against his cousin Anthony Gerrard said: “I hope it goes well for Anthony on the day but at the final whistle I hope he is disappointed.”
