Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale thinks the North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal is just as big as the Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid match that he will take part in this afternoon.

The battle between the Spanish rivals will kick off just a little later than the Premiership affair with the Welshman hoping for a Spurs/Real double.

When asked how the two derbies compared Bale told BWIN: “I think they are both equal to be honest.”

“They are both amazing derbies to play in, both sets of fans are both feisty enough for the game as well as the team.

“They are both very big derbies in the world of football and I’ve obviously lucky enough to play in both of them.”

Real Madrid is currently leading la Liga four points above Barcelona, but the former Spurs player says they are taking nothing for granted in their quest for the league title.

He continued: “The aim is to win the league and we’re in a position at the moment but we’ll keep fighting every game to take three points every match.

“Take it game by game and hopefully at the end of the season we’ll be champions.”
