Spurs to beat Manchester United and Arsenal for Torino Captain

Tottenham has appeared to have moved ahead of both Manchester United and Arsenal in their desire to sign Torino captain Kamil Glik.

Spurs technical director Franco Baldini has been in touch with the Polish international defenders agent Jaroslaw Kolakowski, over a £6 million move to White Hart Lane.

According to Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italian Baldini is believed to be a big admirer of the 27-year-old centre-back and hope that his connections to Serie A football will be enough to convince Glik to choose Spurs over rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.

Glik has for many years been the rock in Torino’s defence while also managing to score seven goals in his last 32 appearances, and while the Bulls would like to tie him down to a new deal sources claim he is interested in playing in the Premiership and relishes the chance to work not only with Baldini but also Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Meanwhile the Argentinian manager knows that sorting out his defence is a priority this summer after having watched his team concede 53 goals last season, the same amount as relegated Burnley.
