TOTTENHAM target Salomon Rondon has left troubled Malaga for Russian side Rubin Kazan.

Spurs miss out on Rondon

The Venezuelan striker, 22, was strongly linked with a move to White Hart Lane this summer.

But he has signed a four-year contract with Rubin, ending Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas’ hopes of landing him.

Rondon scored 27 goals in 72 matches for Malaga, who are suffering with financial trouble.

The Spanish big-spenders announced last week they were conducting an “internal restructuring”.

But reports suggested owner Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nassar Al-Thani, a member of the Qatar royal family, wants to sell up.

He has been at Malaga only two years and bankrolled a number of big moves during his time at the club.

However, the uncertainty of Malaga’s future has lead to some players leaving with Santi Cazorla expected to join Arsenal.

And there are also doubts over the future of manager Manuel Pellegrini who could also jump ship.
