Liverpool has known for some time that they would be losing right-back Glen Johnson this summer, after the England international refused to agree terms on a new contract with would have seen his wages cut-in-half.

Meanwhile Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya has failed to tie down a place in Luis Enrique’s team, and has been pushing for a move away from Catalonia, and now according to Fichajes.net he has agreed personal terms to join Liverpool.

Barcelona and Liverpool still need to discuss a transfer fee, but given the fact he is not a regular at the Nou Camp, Liverpool should be able to pick him up for under £10 million.

Here at Soccer transfers we like this signing a lot as it will allow manager Brendan Rodgers to use Emre Can further up the pitch in his more natural position.

Have a look at the 24-year-old in the video below and see if you think Montoya will be good for Liverpool.
