Spanish La Liga side Valencia are keen on signing Chelsea’s Senegalese striker Demba Ba when the transfer window opens in January.

Ba who moved the previous winter from Newcastle has failed to get the starting spot he desired in the team under new manager Jose Mourinho, and is now a transfer target for the Spaniards who have an excellent relationship with Chelsea after signing midfielder Oriol Romeu on-loan.

The 28-year-old moving to Valencia could suit both sides in a relationship that has Chelsea having the first option on several of the Valencia academy’s youngsters.

Arsenal was also interested in acquiring Ba last summer in a loan move, but it would suit the Blues to sell him to a club overseas, rather than a domestic challenger.
