Southampton defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has ruled out joining either Tottenham or Liverpool this summer preferring to join a club that will be playing Champions League football.
The 25-year-old French international has been very vocal in his desire to leave Southampton, and wanted to do so last summer when the Saints lost a handful of players only to see his exit blocked by the clubs hierarchy.
“If I leave Southampton it will be for a club in the Champions League,” he told French radio station RMC.
“I have a two-year contract. If a club pays the right amount for me, it will be time to leave.
“The amount? I have no idea, but I will not leave for a small price. Southampton is known to be a good seller club, the price should be high enough.”
Manchester United and Arsenal remain the top contenders but don’t count out the possibility of Chelsea making a move for Schneiderlin as well.
