Southampton and England defender Nathaniel Clyne is set to reject a new contract offer at Southampton and try to force a move to Old Trafford during the summer.

Chelsea is also interested in the full-back after some impressive performances this season not only got him an England call up but also helped his club to have the best defensive record in the Premiership.

Clyne is contracted to Southampton until the end of next season and despite the club being said to offer him a new deal that would almost double his current salary, the 23-year-old sees his future at a bigger club with ESPN reporting that he has set his heart on Manchester United and will snub any approaches from Southampton.

It is also now secret that United boss Louis van Gaal is looking to better United’s back-line during the summer and that he has Clyne’s on a list of possible candidates.
