It would appear that a big money move to Manchester United by Spanish international defender Sergio Ramos is all but over after his brother, who is also his agent met with Club President Florentino Perez and club director general Jose Angel Sanchez yesterday to agree to a new bumper deal that will keep the 29-year-old club captain at the Santiago Bernabeu for years to come.

Spanish sports newspaper Marca, who are well connected to events surrounding the club say a move to Old Trafford is all but over with Ramos set to sign a new long term deal.

Cynics will say that this was the former Sevilla players plan all along, and that by linking himself to a move to Manchester United, Real Madrid capitulated and offered him the deal he wanted from day one.
