Despite David de Gea not being available for tomorrow’s season opener against Tottenham, the Red Devils are confident that he will be their number one keeper next season according to Spanish sports newspaper AS.

The 24-year-old Spanish international has bed heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, yet following the Spanish giants refusal to pay Manchester United’s asking price he still remains at Old Trafford ahead of the new season which kicks-off lunch-time Saturday.

According to AS United will now no longer listen to any offers from Real Madrid, and consider backing down from their original stance to be a sign of weakness.

United told Madrid that they values the young Spaniard at 40€ million while Real Madrid thought that 20€ million was more than a fair offer, given the fact De Gea can walk away a free agent next summer.
