Manchester football correspondent of Guardian/Observe Jamie Jackson claims that Manchester United’s next major signing with be Southampton defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and that Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal wants the deal completed before Monday so that the 25-year-old French international can join the team for their pre-season tour of North America.
‘They’d love to do Schneiderlin of Southampton before then [the US tour]. I’m not too sure if it will happen, but you never know,’ he told Talksport.
‘The information this morning was: just because they’re getting Schweinsteiger it doesn’t mean they’re not getting Schneiderlin.
‘They want both of them. They’ve got Schweinsteiger now, so next will be Schneiderlin.’
