Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says all this talk of Robin van Persie moving to another club is a little premature, as the Arsenal captain is still under contract till the end of next season.
When asked about all the talk coming from other club managers about wanting to sign RvP this is what Wenger replied:
“I cannot stop that (other managers talking), but in an ideal world. But it doesn‘t bother me too much. Robin is the leader of our club and I would like to specify he is not at the end of his contract.
“The key is to focus on your job which he does very well and enjoy your games. Nothing is unsettling. At our level we are professional people.
“I believe if you are to have one quality it is not to be unsettled because what is said of you by other clubs is part of the job.
“What is important is how much you want to win the next game and all the rest is basically not important.”
